Há dias descobri este maravilhoso livro na mesinha-de-cabeceira da minha mãe. Trouxe-o comigo, emprestado por uns dias, e estou encantada com a descoberta!

É a reprodução de um dos diários de Edith Holden.

Transcrevo aqui o texto de apresentação que se encontra na aba, para despertar o interesse!

«Reprodução fac-símile do diario de uma naturalista ao longo do ano de 1906. Edith Holden recolhe em palavras e imagens a flora e a fauna do campo britânico durante as diferentes estações do ano.

O texto de edith Holden, inteiramente escrito à mão com grande esmero, inclui os seus poemas favoritos e os seus pesamentos e observações pessoais (....).

As maravilhosas e excelentes aguarelas de aves, borboletas, abelhas e flores que encontramos a cada página constituem o reflexo fiel do seu profundo amor à natureza; têm o sentido de promenor de um naturalista e a sensibilidade de um artista. (...)»

O diário foi descoberto e editado 70 anos depois, muito após a morte da autora, que trágicamente morreu afogada no Tamisa quando andava a colher flores de castanheiro.

Aconselho a todos os apaixonados pela natureza que espreitem, folheiem... mergulhem, neste fantástico e delicado livro.

A few days ago I have discovered this wonderful book in my mother`s bed side table. I brought it with me, borrowed for a few days, and I'm delighted with the discovery!

It is a reproduction of one of the diaries of Edith Holden.

I am copying here the text of presentation that is on the tab, to arouse your interest!

"Reproduction facsimile of the diary of a naturalist throughout the year 1906. Edith Holden collects in words and images the flora and fauna of the British countryside during the different seasons. The text of Edith Holden, written entirely by hand with great care, includes her favorite poems and her thoughts and observations (....). The wonderful and excellent watercolors of birds, butterflies, bees and flowers we find in each page are the true reflection of his deep love of nature, she has a sense of detail of a naturalist and the sensitivity of an artist. (...)»

The diary was discovered and published 70 years later, long after the death of the author, who tragically drowned in the Thames when she was picking chestnut flowers.

I suggest to all nature lovers that have a look... dive in this amazing and gentle book.
